About

Hi and welcome to PolisRoom! My name is Christina Zygakis, I am Greek and I am the author of the site. Let me tell you a few words about me.

I define myself as an International Relations scholar, studying the field since 2003. I hold a BA in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus, as well as an MA in Diplomacy and an MA in War & Contemporary Conflict from the University of Nottingham. Currently, I am pursuing a double, interdisciplinary MSc in American Studies: Politics, Strategy & Economics with the University of Piraeus and New York University as a U.S. Embassy Bicentennial Scholar. Apart from my formal education, I have attended a big number of short courses, conferences and lectures in Greece and other parts of Europe. Being a Cretan, I introduced myself to the local media as an IR scholar at the age of 20, with articles and guest radio talks.

PolisRoom is a blog about anything that has to do with Politics and Politics education and careers. Here I share with you analyses, book reviews, explanations to terms, academic reading lists, opportunities, how-to articles and anything that I think could be useful for your personal and professional development in the field.

The reason why I have created PolisRoom is because I love learning and sharing the knowledge I accumulate. Actually, I believe that if we all did that, our world would be a much, much better place! Enjoy your time in my online space!
